Description: Highly detailed map of a portion of Sumatra, primarily along the west coast. Sebeirou, Sepora , Pungif and Nassau Islands also shown. Nice detail, especially for the period. Manincabou, Pays De Jambi, Redjang, Anaksungai, Bencoulen, Padang, Mt. Pougang, Padang and other place names shown. A few minor wormholes, but no loss of image to the map. A good example of this early and highly detailed regional map. From Vandermaelen's remarkable 6 volume atlas, which if combined as globe gores forms an immense globe. Vandermaelen accomplished the first atlas mapping of the world on a uniform scale.
